Restoration

Diagnostic inspection

Complete diagnostic examination and evaluation.Full dismantling of the mechanism, case and bracelet. Separation of the movement from the case, remove dial, hands, pushers, stem and crown. Visual and technical examination.Technician completely disassembles your watch into individual components. Major parts such as rotor, balance and escapement are pre washed to reveal any visibly apparent faults or excessive wear and tear.

The technician then carefully disintegrates all of the movement and components into their original individual parts right up to the tiniest cap jewels.

Cleaning

The next step is to compartmentalize and put the tiny micro sized parts into fine meshed cleaning baskets and position them into an automatic cleaning machine. The precise placement of parts is essential for the highly automated system to work properly. This will ensure consistent performance and impeccably clean parts.

The machines robotic carrier arm then picks the basket, delivers, and immerses it throughout all of the cleaning stations, carefully choreographing each stage. During this process the cleaning machine uses a range of washes, baths, ultrasound, rotation and agitation to ensure thorough degreasing and proper cleaning.

Finally the parts are rinsed in a fluid and a complex procedure of heat drying and treatment by an electro static discharge blow bar is applied to assure the parts are virtually static, dust and spot free.

All parts are then de-magnetized by being passed through a sophisticated x and y axis magnetic inversion machine specially designed for this purpose and are finally ready for assembly.

Assembly

The technician can now reassemble the entire movement according to manufacturers technical guideline using carefully defined color-coded assembly trays. The work is done in an ultra bright, clean room environment that is temperature and humidity controlled environment with state-of-the-art modern testing equipment.

Each part is hand fitted into the main plate and meticulously assembled using total concentration. All the settings and functions are tested and readjusted throughout the process. The balance is trued and a dynometric tool is used to torque the rotor. A series of specially formulated Mouebis synthetic oils, lubricants and grease are applied at critical points using professional dispensing tools in the correct amount to ensure the watch runs almost friction free.

The complete movement is then tested and operated without the encasement to check performance. It is tested in five pendent positions and computer calibrated. Timing is regulated and adjusted using a Vibrograph in static positions. The watch movement is then tested and adjusted at 21C and in two temperatures for Canadian parameters 01C and 06C.

The movement is only now ready to be refitted into its original case. It is gently whirled and spun on a Bergeon auto-test to simulate the dynamic world. It is an overall analysis of the general verification of the escapement functions and height clearances of the moving parts of the entire mechanism. The next step is to check the endurance and fitness of the power reserve. The watch is now attached to a separate machine, the Bergeon final-test. In this procedure the watch is strictly under observation to check the relative precision, isochronism and power reserve.

The watch is pressure tested for water resistance using two different kinds of modern testing equipment.

Exterior Watch Spa

Concurrently during the movement servicing and testing ultramodern techniques are done to restore your timepiece to the original factory look. The case and bracelet ultrasonically cleaned, refinished and adjusted. Each piece is carefully washed to protect the original finish. Stainless steel is restored to the original polished or satin finish. In consultation with the customer, damaged metal and blemishes can also be repaired. (Additional charges apply) Laser treatments are used to fill in or remove deep scratches and treat edges with surgical precision. Worn out plating can be rhodium, gold or silver electroplated. Leather bands are carefully rejuvenated and treated with kendi oil.

Final quality control and inspection. Watch is submitted for final general overall analysis. The watch is checked for general appearance and all the functions are evaluated. Watches approved are sealed in suitable protective packaging for customer presentation.

Summation

Four stage automated ultrasonic cleaning, x and y axis de-magnetization, vacuum and pressure testing, electronic timing and calibration to ensure the best performance and refinishing of the case and bracelet.

Periodic maintenance service. Service A1.

Recommended every 3 to 5 years.

Diagnostic

Dismantle the mechanism, case and bracelet. Separation of the movement from the case, remove dial, hands, pushers, stem and crown. Technician disassembles all major parts and components of the watch. Parts are pre-washed to reveal any visibly apparent faults or excessive wear and tear.

Cleaning

Parts are compartmentalized into fine meshed cleaning baskets and positioned into a cleaning machine. Parts are then washed in a special cleaning machine that uses a range of washes, baths and rotation to ensure deep cleansing.  All parts are then rinsed in a special solution. Parts are heat dried and treated by an electrostatic discharge blow bar to ensure they are virtually static, dust and spot free.

Assembly

Technician re-assembles movement according to manufactures technical guideline. The work is done in an ultra bright, clean room environment with state-of-the-art modern testing equipment. Each part is hand fitted and assembled using total concentration. All the settings and functions are tested and readjusted. Specially formulated oils, lubricants and grease are applied at critical points using professional dispensing tools in the correct amount.

Testing

Movement is tested and operated. It is then computer calibrated, adjusted and regulated using a Vibrograph in static pendant positions. Movement is then refitted into its original case. It is gently whirled and spun on a Bergeon auto-test to simulate the dynamic motion of the wrist.

Final quality control and inspection. The watch is checked for general appearance and all the functions are evaluated. Watches approved are then sealed in suitable protective packaging for customer presentation.

Water resistance check. B1.

Recommend at least once a year or prior to any serious water activity.

Silicone gasket high pressure vacuum grease and inspect condition of crown, case tube, pushers and crystal gasket.  Perform water pressure test phase one for primary leak detection. Phase two water pressure test immersion conducted at full static depth charge. Vacuum shock for leak detection.  Record observation and report examination and evaluation results. Final quality control check.

Water resistance check. Service B2.

Recommended at least once a year and before the start of any serious water activity.  Full dismantling of the mechanism, case and bracelet. Separation of the movement from the case, pushers, stem and crown. Visual and technical examination.  Ultrasonic cleaning of the case and bracelet. Silicone gasket high pressure vacuum grease and inspect condition of crown, case tube, pushers and crystal gasket.

STEP 1.

Perform water pressure test phase one without the movement for primary leak detection. Phase two water pressure test immersion conducted at full static depth charge. Vacuum shock for leak detection. Record and report results.

STEP 2.
